i got a friend who bought an unlocked sidekick ... the problem is that the features wont work.. like facebook, msn, checking your emails... bcuz it`s designed to work on specific networks..
instead of buying the sidekick 3, i suggest you wait for the sidekick LX 2009 to be unlocked, they did a pretty good job with the upgrading and everything

I still did not order the Sidekick due to visa problems but hopefully when I purchase it I will definitely post about it in the blog.
Concerning the sidekick working in Kuwait, I think you can get the sidekick unlocked and it can work in Kuwait.
I honestly don't know if the features/applications work or not in Kuwait but i hope they do. You can contact Wataniya 121 or Zain 107 for further assistance asking them whether or not it works with the network.
