The 55 players were voted for by the 45,000 professional players that belong to the 42 professioanl organisations from around the world that form FIFPro.
They were asked to name a World XI, with a basic 4-3-3 formation and the majority chose players that plied their trade in either England or Spain last term.
Chelsea were not far behind Barcelona in nominations with eight, while European champions Manchester United had seven, Real Madrid had six, AC Milan five, Bayern four, Arsenal three and Liverpool and Inter two apiece.
No less than eleven other clubs had one player put forward, but it was the European champions Spain that topped the nationality list with nine players being included.Below is the full list of nominations for the award that Kaká won last season and the this year's victor will be announced on October 27.
