Food Court in Mishref

Some Contrast mentioned almost a year ago about the opening of a food court in Mishref, well it's been quite a while since the construcion so I had to sneak and have a look at what they were up to.

These are the restaurants which will be opening soon:
-UNO Chicago Grill
-The Chocolate Cafe
-Pasta Pasta
-Hambuger union
-Shawarmaji
-Mashawi
-Vitamin Juice
-Shanghai Dragon

The opening of the food court will probably be during the first quarter of 2011. Most of the restaurants are new so it'll be a new food court experience.

A reader has sent us an e-mail about two lost dogs, a mother and her puppy. They have been lost since December 2009 in Surra area.

Color - Light Brown, beige, black markings around face
Other details - She is microchipped.
Last seen in Surra area, Block 3.

This tournament is for fun. There is money on the line, and this is a good way to not only show your skill, but improve it.

Naz Restaurant in Bayan

The famous Iranian restaurant Naz will be opening soon in Bayan old Co-op, replacing Pizza Italia restaurant. They have 3 other branches in Jarbriya Co-Op, Al-Zahra Co-Op and Sharq Co-Op.

I still didn't try Naz restaurant and I hope it's as good as what I've heard.

My Problem With Car Washing Machines

Yesterday, since the dust went off I decided to try out Al-Oula car wash station, the one located in West Mishref. I was waiting in the line for almost 10 minutes until one of the guys came and told me in a very cold way "We can't wash your car" and left !

My car is Hummer H2 and I still can't find a place to wash my car using a washing machine, if you know a place please share !

Kuwaiti Film Heaven's Water

The Kuwaiti film “Heaven’s Water” by international award-winning director Abdullah Boushahri has been selected to compete for the Muhr Arab Award in the short films category at the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) 2010 edition. The film was written by Boushahri in collaboration with Emarati screenplay writer Mohammad Hassan Ahmad and starring the renowned actor Khaled Ameen and up-and-coming actress Haya Abdulsalam.

The 23-minute film takes place in Kuwait City and revolves around (Tawfeeq) a common peddler, who meets (Latifa) a pregnant girl in her second month at a local fish store. Brought together by their interest in a yellow fish, they endure the tribulations of her abortion, and his fear of water. Their bond grows stronger as they lose themselves in the bustle of the city.

I strongly encourage Kuwaiti films to be produced and BeyondDreams seems to have done an excellent job in developing a high quality standard film. We wish them the best of luck!

How To Upgrade Your Galaxy S To Froyo 2.2

Today I finished upgrading my Galaxy S to the latest firmware version Froyo 2.2 and it was kinda complicated since it's my first time to upgrade the device.

First of all you have to install Kies from Samsung's official website, then connect your Galaxy S to your PC using a USB and click on the icon showed in the image above. ( Note : The battery life should be more than 50% to begin the upgrade )

After finishing the upgrading process, the device will be rebooted by itself and coding will be displayed in your screen so don't panic and wait until it finishes.

Wait few minutes until the device restores all your applications and files, after that you'll experience major differences in your device and I'll be reviewing it very soon.

Farha Kids Carnival

"We Are Volunteers" is a team of girls (ages13-19) from Eshraq Girls Center who work together to offer a helping hand to who ever is in need in our communities. The team meets up two times a month to take training courses and carry out voluntary projects.

Their next project will be a carnival called "Farha" and it is going to be at Discovery Mall on December 9th from 5pm to 9pm.

The profits they receive will be donated to the education of underprivileged students in Kuwait. Please support them as much as possible.

Review : The Next Three Days

Yesterday Salem, Kuwaitiful and I went to watch "The Next Three Days". The movie was incredible and really deserved to be watched, specially since Russel Crowe is acting in this movie. It's about a husband trying to help his wife to escape from jail after murdering her boss.

My final rate for the movie is 8/10 and it would be 9 only if it wasn't boring in the beginning, but overall the movie was amazing.

RssDemon : Android's Best RSS Feed Reader

The moment I switched from iPhone to Android phones, I was searching for an application that can group all my favorite blogs and sync by itself searching for new posts like the application "KuwaitBlogs" for iPhones. So I tried like five different RSS feed readers and loved only one, "RssDemon". It's fast and very organized, gives you the ability to star your favorite posts from each blog so you can easily return to them, and group each blog by different editable categories.

Since there's no KuwaitBlogs application for Androids, I'm gonna stick with RssDemon which is very useful specially for those who love to read blogs and don't want to miss any post.
