Khobiz Regag & Nutella

Yesterday we decided to try a restaurant called Hanhum, located at AlHamra Tower near Elevation Burger. Their menu is full with Kuwaiti food like Machbous, Baryani and famous Kuwaiti desserts.

I was in a mood for some Nutella and they told me that they can add Nutella to either what we call in Arabic Khobiz Regag ( similar to the normal crepe ) or Iranian Bread, and I choose Khobiz Regag as something new to try.

It was delicious and mouth watery but I think they over cooked it since it was kinda harder than I thought when I grabbed a bite. What makes Khobiz Regag so special and different from the normal crepe is the crunchy feeling you get with every bite unlike the crepe which is soft.

It costs only 750fils, give it a try.

Wok n Roll Soon At The Avenues

One of the best Chinese/Japanese restaurants in Kuwait is going to open soon at The Avenues Mall. Even though I never tried it yet but people are comparing it with Maki, some said that it's even better with reasonable prices and I believe there's only one way to find out.

Their first branch is located in Jabriya in front of Royal Hayat Hospital, and the one at The Avenues Mall is right next to Chili's.

Review: Potbelly

For a change we decided to try out a new restaurant and went to Potbelly, it's almost like Subway but with better ingredients and the bread they use is extremely delicious even better than Subway.

It's the same idea, you can make your own sub from the bread to the sauces or choose one of the sandwiches available in the menu. We have tried Italian, Clubby and Grilled Chicken & Cheese; all of them were incredibly amazing.

One more thing, if you had the chance to visit Potbelly try out their Brownie Cookies and you'll be able to taste one of the best cookies I have ever tried in my life. It's a brownie that looks like a cookie with melted chocolate chips inside.

I was kinda disappointed by one thing only, the sizes they offer. The Original sub size is the same size of a 6'' sub from Subway and the biggest size they have is almost 9'', compared to Subway which they have is a 12'' sub.

Potbelly is located at The Avenues - Food Court in Phase Two.

Review: Planet Hollywood - Kuwait

A place I always wanted to visit since I first saw their logo while driving in Gulf Road. Planet Hollywood restaurant is located inside Olimpiya building which is in front of The Scientific Center.

The place is nice, I really loved the decorations and they have a good taste in music too. It was cool enough to see your favorite celebrity's hand print and signature. Also in every table you see photos of some of the top celebrities when they were younger.

As appetizers we ordered boneless chicken wings and Nachos, both weren't bad at all but the Nachos was full with oil. So my advice to you if you're on a diet stay away from the Nachos.

Then we had our main dishes, I had Fajita Combo ( Chicken and Beef ) which was a very delicious dish that I might have again. My friend Salem got his BBQ Chicken Pizza and he said it's good only if it wasn't full of oil.

Overall, we loved the atmosphere and the design put the food was very average and have lots of oil in it, so our rate goes 8/10 for the atmosphere and 6/10 for the food.

PF.Chang's: A Dead Bee in My Drink

Yesterday I went to have lunch with one of my friends in the Avenues Mall, so we decided to eat at PF.Chang's. Everything was perfect until I asked them to refill my diet pepsi, I was shocked to find a dead bee in my drink !

I called the manager and he asked our waiter to replace the drink with a new one. This time the guy who made the drink came by himself to give me the diet pepsi, apologized to me and told me that he checked the drink this time. When we asked for the check we noticed that the diet pepsi was on the house and not mentioned in the check.

I really hope that it won't happen again since I'm a big fan of PF.Chang's.

They've sent us two boxes, each box has a pizza, pasta, garlic bread, potato wedges and your choice of sauce. The idea is creative and also saves money since the price of each box will costs only 4.5KD

Subway's Buffalo Chicken

Since I always go crazy about the taste of the buffalo sauce, I couldn't resist Subway's newest sandwich which is "Buffalo Chicken". The sauce is not THAT perfect, but overall it was delicious and I might order it again.

They've added also another sandwich called "Turkey Jalapeno Melt".

Review : Pizza Burger

We were invited by Mr.Ayman ( Marketing Manager of Burger King ) to try out Burger King's new sandwich "Pizza Burger", we did post about it when it was available in the states and now everyone will have the chance to try it in Kuwait.

Pizza Burger is simply a huge burger that can be shared by three and sliced into 6 pieces, it has pepperoni, mozzarella cheese and two kinds of sauce ( Sicilian tomato sauce and a delicious red pesto mayonnaise ).

For me it was one of the best burgers I have ever tasted in Burger King, simply delicious and the sauce mixture is just perfect. The cost of this new burger is 3.200KD, and 4.500KD for the meal including 3 french fries and 3 sodas.

It will be available on Sunday 19th of September. Also you can check out Ansam's review by clicking here.

Review : Taal Restaurant

We were invited by Mr.Athbi Al-Kandri to one of the best Indian restaurants here in Kuwait "Taal" which is located between Movenpick and Friday's Al-Beda'.

The place was extremely amazing and the atmosphere just perfect and we really loved the place.

To start, they gave us three Indian special sauces along with their delicious crispy bread bites. I really loved the green sauce which is called mint raita or cucumber-mint raita, the other sauces one of them was kinda sweet and the other contains onions.

Then we enjoyed our soups, "Murg Dorra Shorba" the one that has corns on the top and "Murg Malai Shorba" which is actually a chicken cream soup. We both loved those two soups ! - ( 1.550KD each )

As soon we finished from our soups the starters arrived, "Lahori Seekh Kebab" is simply a medium sized kabab with kinda spicy tender. - ( 4.450KD )

"Murg Potli Kebab" is a spicy chicken mince wrapped in chicken breast cooked in tandoor served with a flaming sword as you can see in the picture above simply amazing. - ( 4.650KD )

"Cottage Cheese Tinkae" is cottage cheese marinated in Indian herbs and believe me the cheese was extremely tasty, we both guarantee that you'll love it ! - ( 1.650KD )

and "Malai Prawns" is prawns tossed in butter, garlic and cream flavored with onion seeds. - ( 4.750KD )
To be honest, we liked them all specially the "Murg Potli Kebab", "Cottage Cheese Tinkae" and the sauce of "Malai Prawns" was unbelievable.

For the main course we had four different selections "Prawn Curry" which is prawns cooked with chillies and coconut. A must to try ! -
( 5.750KD )

"Murg Jaitun Jaffran" is chicken cooked with marinated olives and saffron in a nut flavored gravy. - ( 3.950KD )

"Aloobukhara Kofta" creamy cottage cheese koftas stuffed with dried plums, simmered in a flavorsome and full-bodied curry. I really loved those, the cottage cheese just makes everything tastes good ! -
( 2.950KD )

"Mushroom Hara Pyaz" is a fresh button mushroom tossed with onion and tomato masala sprinkled with spring onions which I really recommend specially for vegetarians and mushroom lovers. -
( 2.900KD )

Along with two kinds of rice "Saffron Rice" and "Murg Dum Biryani", both were made perfectly. ( Murg Dum Biryani - 3.950KD/Saffron - 1.750KD )

The drinks were something we weren't expecting, we ordered "The Godfather" and "Blue Ocean" each drink was a total blast ! Also chocolate milk shake was purely awesome ! ( Godfather - 1.900KD/Blue Ocean - 1.800KD )

As for dessert we tried "Chocolate Rasmalai Terrine" which is cream and chocolate cake slice stuffed with rasamalai. - ( 3.000KD )

"Gulab Jamun" kinda like our traditional sweet "lugaimat" but bigger in size. - ( 1.500KD )

"Kaisari Rasmalai" is a reduced milk dumplings soaked in milk flavored with pista and saffron. - ( 1.500KD )

"Chocolate Ice Cream" well, it's my favorite flavor and the way they made is more than excellent. - ( 2.000KD )

Over all, the food was very delicious and the waiters were very, very friendly. What really attract us about Taal is their warm atmosphere that suits the quality of food they serve, and the design that was just marvelous and inviting. Here are some pictures of the place that we took that day :

Finally, we would like to thank Mr.Athbi Al-Kandari and his friendly staff for giving us the opportunity to try out their one of a kind restaurant, it was an experience that we won't forget and a place that we would love to visit again.
